I am a seasoned practitioner with over 34 years of clinical experience. I graduated veterinary school with Honors from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. My experiences include working in small, companion, food animal and mixed practices and running my own predominantly equine practice.
I have a large interest in musculoskeletal and podiatry issues of the horse. In the summer of 1982, I completed the training course for farriers at the Oklahoma Horseshoeing School in Oklahoma, City and in 1990 completed the Certification course for chiropractic therapy from the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association’s Options for Animals program. This education has profoundly changed the way I evaluate my patients. Seeing a slew of animals subsequently with dysfunction in their mouths and TM joints led me to obtain advanced training in equine dentistry. I am certified by the International Association of Equine Dentistry and the Equine Dental Providers of America and have been fortunate to serve on the board of directors and serve terms as Vice President for both organizations. Proper functional equine dentistry for my patients is one my top priorities in clinical practice.
I LOVE western Washington with its physical beauty and opportunities. I enjoy exploring the mountains, trails, coastlines often with my slightly nutty dog Kyzer. I also love catch and release fly fishing, hiking, and floating the kayak when time allows. I am hoping to get out on horseback to explore the backroads and trails of Washington.
