Julie DeWardOwner, Practice Manager
When we started Mt Rainier Equine in 2008 I never imagined we would have grown to the team we have today. My passion for horses spans my entire life. Veterinary medicine and a focus on improved health has been my career path since 1999 when I started working as a field assistant at another equine veterinary clinic. I love practicing yoga, gardening, doing anything outside and spending quality time with Bob, our two boys Ben and Drew and our animals.

I have been with Mt. Rainier Equine since April of 2016. My passion for horses and riding has been lifelong. I currently share my life with a couple kitties, 2 Pembroke Welsh Corgis, my senior Appaloosa gelding and my quarter horse mare. (Not to forget my son, and my loving husband Kody who puts up with all the 'Horse Crazy!' 😊)
Jeannette "Jet" ParrettOffice Assistant
A life-long passion for horses has led to a multi-faceted equine centered life. I love family time, adventures with my Arabian Coconut Macaroon and serving the rescue, show and racing communities.

I started taking riding lessons when I was just 8 years old and grew up with horses as a Pony Club member here in Western Washington before attending Washington State University. I have always loved learning about horses, and enjoy all the life lessons that horses teach us. Though I don't currently have my own horse I have spent my career caring for some amazing rescued equines and working with some wonderful people in the equine veterinary care world. In my free time I like to hike, see a movie, or check out local events.

My love of horses started at a very young age. I got my first horse when I was 5 years old and I guess you could say I'm just a horse crazy girl that never grew up! I am a wife (married to my high school sweetheart!) and a mom of two boys. I enjoy competing in NRHA reining shows and squeezing in trail rides and camping trips with my family when we can. I am so excited to be apart of the Mt. Rainer Equine team and I look forward to getting to know all of our clients!

My love for horses and the interest of becoming a veterinarian brought me here, I just recently joined the Mt. Rainier Equine team. I am currently attending University of Washington obtaining my bachelor’s degree in environmental science. In my free time you can find me volunteering at Sundance Circle (a hippotherapy center), walking my two Great Danes, or riding my mustang, Hidalgo! I am very excited to be a part of the team, and grateful to be learning more about equine veterinary medicine.
