When we started Mt Rainier Equine in 2008 I never imagined we would have grown to the team we have today. My passion for horses spans my entire life. Veterinary medicine and a focus on improved health has been my career path since 1999 when I started working as a field assistant at another equine veterinary clinic. I love practicing yoga, gardening, doing anything outside and spending quality time with Bob, our two boys Ben and Drew and our animals.

I have been with Mt. Rainier Equine since April of 2016. My passion for horses has been lifelong, my riding endeavors have spanned from showing hunter under saddle and Horsemanship, to trail riding, with my new adventure competing on an equestrian drill team. I currently share my life with a couple kitties, welsh corgis, my appaloosa and pony. (Not to forget my loving husband Kody who puts up with all the 'Horse Crazy!' 😊)

    Office Assistant

A life-long passion for horses has led to a multi-faceted equine centered life. I love family time, adventures with my Arabian Coconut Macaroon and serving the rescue, show and racing communities.

  • Lauren Quaranta
    Veterinary Assistant

Hello, all! I grew up in Issaquah, and attended Central Washington University where I earned a bachelor's degree in Medical Biology. I've been riding horses for most of my life, and was an active competing member of Central's Equestrian Team. My hobbies include spending time with my pets, trail riding, cooking, and learning more about equine veterinary medicine.

  • Kari Vaarvik
    Veterinary Assistant

I started taking riding lessons when I was just 8 years old and grew up with horses as a Pony Club member here in Western Washington before attending Washington State University. I have always loved learning about horses, and enjoy all the life lessons that horses teach us. Though I don't currently have my own horse I have spent my career caring for some amazing rescued equines and working with some wonderful people in the equine veterinary care world. In my free time I like to hike, see a movie, or check out local events.
